Bill “Coach” Hughes

Campus Community Pastor

Coach joined our team in 2017.  As Campus Community Pastor for TLBC, Coach provides a pastoral presence at the church during the week offering much-needed prayer, support, and counseling for those who come to the office. He also loves making hospital and home visits in addition to preaching and teaching. You will quickly discover his passion for helping and praying for others is always at the forefront of his mind and his conversations. “Coach” and his wife (Elaine) “Sweat Pea” as they are affectionally called were married in 1969 and have three kids and three grandkids. Coach graduated High School from Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, and received a Bachelor of Science and Education degree from Arkansas State Teacher’s College (currently University of Central Arkansas.) in Conway Arkansas. Coach has served the Lord in several churches throughout his 50+ years in ministry all here in Arkansas. God called them to Mountain Home in 1983 where he served as Youth Pastor of Eastside Baptist and then Mountain Home Baptist while also a coach at Mountain Home High School. Since 2012 he has been the minister for the Baptist Student Union at Arkansas State University at Mountain Home. Coach enjoys writing poetry and one of his favorite scriptures is Proverbs 3:5-6
